Wisdio is a Polish start up company. As of 2012, the Wisdio team consisted of a staff of six developers and designers. It was founded by Sebastian Zontek who now serves as the company's CEO. Wisdio's goal is to “find the right people to answer questions quickly and reliably." Wisdio has been featured on TechCrunch and now AppAppeal as well!
The main thing that sets Wisdio apart from other question and answer type services is that Wisdio has its own WAR (Wisdio Authority Rating) system. This can help provide its users with a one-stop shop out seeking out the most trusted and reliable system in a quick and efficient manner. Other similar applications allow anyone to answer which can lead to a lot of misinformation.
Wisdio is designed well and has a professional and maintained appearance. Users can simply type in their question and like most search engines a number of suggested questions will pop up. This helps users save time if they want to find a question that's already been asked and answered. Users can also browse through the questions that have yet to be answered completely and provide them with their response in order to grow and improve their WAR. Wisdio is offered in English and Polish.
Joining Wisdio is very simple by linking one's Facebook or Twitter login. From there they can let Wisdio know what subjects that they are knowledgeable in or continue onto searching the knowledge base for the best answers.
Wisdio is completely free for users at this time. They are developing a Wisdio Knowledge Marketplace where users can submit their digital content and Wisdio will recommend it to users based on their information searches. As of 2012, this is in development with no known launch date.
Wisdio is recommended for anyone who is seeking new information or who is a subject matter expert who is looking to promote themselves as such. The Wisdio database is still growing and developing and may not be as robust as say a Yahoo or Google search. However, for the subjects it does cover, Wisdio offers some fantastic answers and content.
